How Morna Tech cut a year of development to 6 months with Blnk
Morna Tech is a Venezuela-based consulting studio experienced in building tech solutions for their clients. They recently entered fintech with their first licensed product, Pago a Pago, a payments app for both P2P and B2B transactions.

As CTO of Morna Tech, a consulting studio in Venezuela, Kevis Rondon wanted to take the leap into fintech with the company’s first licensed financial product. His team had years of experience building crypto and web apps, but this was their first time handling fiat payments in a regulated environment, where even small mistakes can be costly.

“We had just secured our license and were starting from scratch,” Kevis recalls. “We needed to be sure we didn’t lose users’ money and that every transaction was tracked with total accuracy.”

The new product, Pago a Pago, aimed to combine P2P convenience with B2B integrations, enabling both individuals and businesses to easily send and accept payments. But with pressure to launch quickly, Kevis realized they needed the right partner to move forward.

That’s when Blnk stood out. “I’m not very good with accounting, but the docs were easy to understand and helped us get started right away,” he said. After testing Blnk Core, the choice became clear.

We are very convinced that you are the right team. We believe you can shorten our development time from a year to four months.

Once the team got hands-on with Blnk, everything started to fall into place.

Blnk Core became their single source of truth for financial data. They built identity management and transaction workflows to track fees, revenue, and user balances with accuracy.

To support operations, they also signed up for Blnk Cloud. “The dashboard is amazing and very intuitive to use,” Mario noted.

Today, the team uses Cloud for back-office visibility and reporting — reviewing transaction records, creating and reconciling balances, and monitoring internal accounts like revenue and fees.

Within six months, Pago a Pago went live, processing over 200,000 ledger transactions in their first 2 months.

“After building with Blnk for months, we can confidently say it works amazingly as a financial core. When we launched Pago a Pago, people liked it so much that we got a lot of questions asking what Core we were using,” Mario said.

“Overnight, Blnk gave us an opportunity we never thought possible.”

We want to offer Core integration services to other banks and fintechs. We are currently planning to implement Blnk for a bank here in Venezuela so they can use the dashboard for their reporting, monitoring, and back-office.

Expanding beyond Pago a Pago

Once they successfully launched Pago a Pago, Morna Tech asked to be an integration partner for customers in Venezuela.

“Our licenses and data infrastructure means we are one leg in the door already. With Blnk, we can confidently walk up to any bank and pitch our Core implementation services to them,” Mario, the CEO, said. “And when they ask for proof, we show them Pago a Pago’s success.”

Another reason why they really wanted this was the growing Blnk ecosystem. “We can’t wait to try out the other features in Blnk. Anything you guys put out is always great — almost like an Apple event,” Mario shared.

“We have been thinking about transaction monitoring, for example. And we are willing to ditch our other considerations for Blnk Watch when we’re ready.”
